چکیده
Three-dimensional CFD-DEM-IBM simulations of sand production in a sandstone formation, using periodic boundaries, were performed 10000 frictional elastic spheres bonded together and compressed at 1 MPa overburden pressure. Sand simulation geometry procedures are proposed, which the cone penetration test (CPT) has been used to investigate physical perforation cemented material with real-world grain size distribution from Ustyurt-Buzachi Sedimentary Basin. The Immersed Boundary Method (IBM) was adapted for simulate fluid flow near well casing. Oil low viscosity density as an injection (reservoir fluid). This study shows what happens first 0.1 s immediately after perforating cased horizontal oil well. Erosion tunnel triggered due pressure drawdown, where particles initiated during drag force that lifted damage zone. At beginning arch captured around it collapsed cavity became larger. amount mass produced calculated. research findings provide insight into sanding process could be helpful practicing engineers understand mechanism micro macro scales. results show proposed model is promising, innovative CFD-DEM-IBM-based system should further elaborated formation.

Aeolian sand beds exhibit regular patterns of ripples resulting from the interaction between topography and sediment transport. Their characteristics have been so far related to reptation transport caused by the impacts on the ground of grains entrained by the wind into saltation. By means of direct numerical simulations of grains interacting with a wind flow, we show that the instability turns...
متن کاملNumerical probabilistic analysis for slope stability in fractured rock masses using DFN-DEM approach
Due to existence of uncertainties in input geometrical properties of fractures, there is not any unique solution for assessing the stability of slopes in jointed rock masses. Therefore, the necessity of applying probabilistic analysis in these cases is inevitable. In this study a probabilistic analysis procedure together with relevant algorithms are developed using Discrete Fracture Network-Dis...
متن کاملDecoupled overlapping grids for the numerical modeling of oil wells
Accurate computation of time-dependent well bore pressure is important in well test analysis – a branch of petroleum engineering where reservoir properties are estimated by comparing measured pressure responses at an oil well to results from a mathematical model. Similar methods are also used in groundwater engineering. In this paper we present the new approach of decoupled overlapping grids fo...
